1.How long does it take to ride the Flume Trail?
Ride time for the 14 miles varies based on fitness level and experience. Average ride times are from 1.5-3 hours. Experienced riders who are well conditioned can complete the ride in under one hour.

2. Is the ride to hard for beginners?
Beginning level riders will have a great opportunity to challenge their fitness level and cycling skills! The most important component for a successful ride is a good level of fitness and a sense of adventure. The entire ride is on dirt roads and single track trails. If a section of the trail seems to steep or technical it can be easily walked.

3. Where does the trail start?
The Flume Trail starts at Spooner Lake State Park, 3709 Hwy. 28, Glenbrook, NV 89413. The trail starts in front of the restroom.

4. Do I have to take a shuttle?
No, the shuttle is optional. The Flume Trail can be done as an out and back, or it can be turned into a loop. The loop options typically add another 1.5 to 3 hours to the ride.

5. Why are you guys so vague on ride times?
We have a broad range of riders who ride the trail. Some things to consider in assessing your own ride time, the ride starts at 7080’ and climbs an additional 1200 feet. These are other factors that affect how long it takes to ride the trail. Living at altitude versus sea level, regularly ride on dirt roads and trails, ride narrow single track trails, participate in aerobic exercise 2-3 times a week, etc. Other things to consider that take additional time are, swimming in Marlette Lake, picnic, photo opportunities, and so on.
